Interested in Sports Medicine?

Grant can get you there!

“I chose Grant Family Medicine for my residency training, knowing that I had a strong interest in sports medicine as well as full-spectrum family medicine. The program presented many opportunities and challenged me to become a better physician. From the wide variety of experiences during my time at Grant FM (including OB and inpatient medicine), I felt very comfortable transitioning from residency to my sports medicine fellowship and into my primary care sports medicine practice. With regard to sports medicine opportunities during residency, there are many. Not only does the Bone & Joint Center give you access to many Sports Medicine and Orthopedic physicians for elective rotations, but Columbus provides a lot of exposure to caring for athletes. Some of my experiences during residency and fellowship included the Columbus Marathon, Delaware Half-Ironman, sideline coverage with local high schools, sports physicals, and opportunities to work alongside physicians with the Columbus Blue Jackets. There are also plenty of opportunities to become proficient with exam skills and injection techniques, as well as research opportunities in the field of sports medicine. Again, I felt very well-prepared to begin my career in sports medicine based on my experience at Grant, and I am thankful for the training I received.”
