Grant allows her to explore her interests in women's health, OB, and underserved and immigrant populations. She also has a strong interest in the history of medicine.  She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to achieve their goals, and good health is the foundation for that. Kajol knew Grant was for her after meeting the team and getting the best energy from everyone there!

Kajol enjoys staying active by working out, hiking, and dancing swing and salsa. She also likes to spend time with her plants and human friends,  and cook with her family. Her comfort show is New Girl and any Gordan Ramsey series.

Carson became interested in family medicine early on after shadowing experiences with small town family physicians and observing the relationships developed in these settings. She enjoys the variety of cases and the ability to help one patient with multiple aspects of their health and care. She was drawn to Grant because of its reputation for both great broad-spectrum clinical training, as well as the commitment to providing equitable and just care within the community.

He is interested in reproductive health, advocacy, faculty development, and community/urban underserved medicine. Adam chose Grant Medical Center because of their strong focus on full-spectrum training along with their commitment to diversity and inclusion.

In his free time, you can catch Adam exercising, cooking, and enjoying a good movie. He especially loves playing tennis, pickleball, and lifting weights. He has also made multiple cooking videos of recipes he loves and has started to tailor his videos toward healthy recipes for patients.

Jenna Moser, MD (she/her) - New York University Grossman School of Medicine

Jenna was born in the small village of Bellaire, Ohio, but spent her early childhood growing up in Columbus. She then moved to sunny Florida, where she developed a passion for the outdoors, including SCUBA diving, as well as music, picking up the guitar and viola. She continued to nurture these interests, as well as her love for science, at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where she earned her degree in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology. She then left the sand and swamp behind for the dense city skyline, attending New York University Grossman School of Medicine in New York City.

As someone who found something to like in almost every area of medicine, Jenna found herself drawn to the broad spectrum practice that family medicine offers. She also appreciated the opportunity to develop longitudinal relationships with patients, provide comprehensive healthcare, and serve as an educator and advocate for her patients and communities. Though she embraces the full scope of family medicine, Jenna has particular interests in LGBTQ+ health, behavioral health, preventative care, and working with underserved communities.

Given her desire to do a little bit of everything, Jenna was attracted to Grant’s broad-spectrum training. However, she was also impressed by the program’s commitment to the community, health equity, and social justice. Add in a diverse and inclusive group of faculty and residents forming a welcoming, supportive atmosphere, and Jenna knew Grant was the place for her.

Outside of medicine, Jenna still enjoys the great outdoors and playing music, as well as cooking and eating as many different types of food as possible, starting (but almost never finishing) many craft projects, and spending time with friends, family, and her two cats, Dorian and Leo.

Many years of volunteer work at her cultural center and in her communities is what motivated Arti to go into family medicine, where she aspires to build long-lasting relationships with her patients. Arti is passionate about behavioral medicine, reproductive health, LGBTQ+ care, and community medicine. Grant was a perfect fit because of the advocacy work it does for its community in Columbus and at large. Amanda Schleper, MD (she/her) - University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Northern Kentucky Campus

Amanda was born and raised in Walton, Kentucky. Growing up she loved spending time with family and exploring local hikes in Kentucky. She then moved to Dayton, Ohio to complete her Bachelor of Science at the University of Dayton where she met her husband. During undergrad, she served her community as an EMT which confirmed her passion for medicine. Amanda moved back home to complete her medical education at the University of Kentucky as part of the inaugural class on the Northern Kentucky Campus. She was eager to be close to home during medical school, and she was determined to make a lasting difference in her hometown. Amanda partnered with some of her classmates to open a free clinic in the area. Her passion for serving the underserved and cultivating long term relationships with her patients flourished through volunteering at the free clinic.

Amanda was eager to continue building lifelong relationships with her patients through providing comprehensive care to individuals of all ages and backgrounds as a physician. This is what ultimately drew Amanda to Family Medicine. She has many interests in Family Medicine, including caring and advocating for vulnerable populations, treating those with substance use disorders, providing prenatal care, pediatrics, point of care ultrasound, performing outpatient procedures, acupuncture, and preventative medicine. Amanda was drawn to Grant because of the rigorous training in full spectrum care including obstetrics, inpatient, and outpatient training and opportunities to care for the underserved populations of Columbus. Throughout the interview season, the people at Grant were very welcoming and accepting of all individuals, demonstrating a culture that Amanda was excited and proud to join. It was evident to her that Grant was a true family that emphasized lifelong learning, providing strong patient care, and advocating for the community.

In her free time, Amanda loves exploring the outdoors with her husband, Jared. Depending on the season, you can find the two hiking or snow skiing. They love hosting family and friends to play board games, such as Catan. Amanda also enjoys reading and embroidering.

Molly Stanford, MD (she/her) - Central Michigan University College of Medicine

Molly was born and raised in Canton, Michigan. Growing up, she enjoyed traveling all over the country with her family to camp in the many National Parks. She attended The Ohio State University and earned her B.S. in Molecular Genetics. After graduation, she attended Case Western Reserve University, where she earned her M.S. in Medical Physiology. While enrolled in her degree, Molly also worked as a Teaching Assistant and then a Course Instructor, teaching other students in the university and in the program. Once she finished her time in Cleveland, Molly moved back to Michigan, where she was able to expand upon her passions for advocacy while enrolled at Central Michigan University College of Medicine.

Molly decided to pursue family medicine because she felt it was the perfect combination of preventative care, advocacy, and being involved with the community. She is ecstatic to join a profession where patients are seen for their whole selves, and not just a disease. When Molly interviewed with Grant, she knew that this was where she wanted to be. The culture of the program felt so welcoming and so intentional, she felt at home even after that first meeting online. Currently, Molly is interested in women’s health including obstetrics, preventative care, POCUS, and advocacy. She is hoping to stay in the central Ohio area, where she will be able to serve a diverse population including rural, suburban, and urban patients of various socioeconomic statuses.

Outside of medicine, Molly loves to cook. She has a fairly robust garden and loves to bake and cook for her friends and family. She also has a Cocker Spaniel named Carmen, who loves a good walk around a park. Molly is looking forward to exploring Columbus with Carmen and finding out all it has to offer!

John Straley, DO (he/him) - Lincoln Memorial University Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine

John was born in Honolulu, HI but spent most of his childhood growing up in the mountains of East Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee and majored in Kinesiology before starting medical school at Lincoln Memorial University in Knoxville, TN. John is a first-generation college student that credits much of his success to his family and especially his older brother, Austin (current internal medicine resident).

John initially became interested in family medicine after volunteering for Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinics across the Appalachian region. Throughout medical school, his mind went in circles about which field to choose, but he ultimately decided a career in family medicine was right for him after rotating at a family medicine clinic in his hometown. His current medical interests are in rural healthcare, sports medicine, preventative medicine, and many more!

Grant was John’s very first interview of a long interview season and set the bar high in terms of what to expect from a residency program. He constantly compared each interview he went on to Grant and the amazing residents, staff, and employees made his decision to rank Grant #1 on his list that much easier when it came time to decide.

Outside of medicine you will find John hanging out with his Great Dane (Porter), at the gym, or on the golf course. He also enjoys spending time at his family farm in Tennessee, fishing, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers!

John Walsh, MD (he/him) - Penn State College of Medicine

John grew up in Akron, Ohio. He earned his undergraduate degree in math and chemistry from Miami University and MD from Penn State University. Between undergrad and med school, he worked as an AmeriCorps Vista at the Open M clinic in Akron, where he became passionate about supporting underserved communities.

In medical school, John came to appreciate how family medicine took a generalist approach and allowed doctors to support patients dealing with social and emotional barriers to health. John was excited about Grant Family Medicine because the broad curriculum and enthusiastic faculty could help prepare him for a career in full-spectrum family medicine, including performing procedures, obstetrics, and ensuring continuity of care.

In his free time, John enjoys fixing things, cooking, jogging, reading, and spending time with family. He and his girlfriend are considering getting a pet, but in the meantime, he hopes to take advantage of his new Columbus home by visiting the Columbus Zoo.
