Claire Dodson, DO (she/her) - Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine

Claire grew up in Columbus, and stayed in the area for undergrad, going to Ohio State, before heading to Athens, OH for medical school at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. Claire found her love for family medicine in the long-term patient relationships, and the broad range of issues family medicine physicians can address. She also has particular interests in Addiction Medicine and Women’s Health. Claire was drawn to Grant not only due to their curriculum aligning with these interests, but also due to the strong community of support she saw within the program.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, crocheting, rooting on the local Columbus sports teams, and playing with her cats, Blinken and Boo.

Emily Drane, DO (she/her) - University of Pikeville

Emily loves the variety that family medicine provides. Every day is slightly different and she enjoys talking to people about prevention and small ways to improve their health. She chose Grant because of their commitment to the community and the ability to learn full spectrum care. Apolline Dumas-Jungels, MD (she/her) - Boston University

Apolline was born in France and moved to the States as a kid. She grew up in the Boston area, then moved to Rochester, NY for college, where she studied Molecular Genetics. After graduating, she worked as a Medical Assistant at a pain clinic, before heading to Boston University for medical school, where she met her wife Hannah.

Apolline chose family medicine because of the emphasis on longitudinal relationships of care, social justice, and health equity. She was very involved in her local chapter of the AAFP, where she met amazing mentors in Family Medicine. Her clinical interests include LGBTQ+ care, addiction medicine, advocacy, and POCUS.

She chose Grant because of the people! She first met the folks from Grant at the AAFP National conference. They were so warm and friendly, and she saw their values aligned with her own.  Grant’s emphasis on advocacy and patient-centered care made it a great choice for her and her family.

In her free time, Apolline likes growing vegetables in the garden, playing board games, hiking, and camping. She also loves spending time with her cat, Spyro the dragon Dumas-Jungels

Hannah Dumas-Jungels, MD (she/her) - Boston University

Hannah grew up in a small town in Northern California with three sisters. Being from a medically underserved place is where her interest in medicine and public health stemmed from. She moved to LA for college, where she got a public health degree from USC (fight on!) and then went on to a MPH at UC Davis, where she learned more about environmental health and epidemiology.

She moved to New England for medical school at Boston University, and loved living someplace with 4 seasons. She chose Family Medicine  because family medicine makes communities healthier, and she is so excited to care for multigenerational families. She chose Grant because of their commitment to advocacy, DEI, and social justice. Her interview day made her feel right at home, and she really saw faculty and residents that would be mentors for the type of medicine she wants to practice. Her clinical interests are gender affirming care, HIV/Hep C, addiction medicine and reproductive justice.

To fill her cup, Hannah enjoys the Great British Bake-Off (especially the seasons with Sue hosting), board games, video games, cooking, and hiking with her wife, Apolline.

Colleen Hoynes, MD (she/her) - University of Cincinnati

Colleen grew up in northeast Ohio just outside of Akron. She has a very close knit family where she falls in the middle of her older sisters and younger brothers. She went to The Ohio State University where she studied mathematics. After graduating amidst COVID in 2020 she started medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Colleen was very undecided all throughout medical school. She has a dad that is a family doctor and an older sister who also is a family doctor but she was determined to find her own path.  She was always interested in listening to patient stories and finding ways to connect with people. It was difficult for her to pinpoint what specialty to apply to because she felt she was connected with kids, pregnant people, grandparents and everyone in between. Finally she realized her own path merged with her sisters (quite literally at Grant!) and her dad’s because family medicine is the unique specialty where you can connect with patients from all walks of life. She is excited to be coming to Grant because of their focus on underserved care as well as the well rounded training in in-patient, out-patient and OBGYN.

In her free time, Colleen enjoys doing some sort of physical activity whether that’s a nice walk, a slow jog, or volleyball with friends. She also enjoys finding new places to eat and trying all the apps on the menu. She is very excited to be returning to Columbus and being able to train with the fantastic people at Grant!

Kailee Kenwright, MD (she/her) - University of Kentucky

Kailee was adopted from China at a young age. She has lived in many cities, growing up mostly in Sacramento, CA and then in Northern KY. Originally, Kailee aspired to be an equine veterinarian, but ultimately chose to pursue medicine as she discovered her true passion - connecting with and caring for people. She attended Northern Kentucky University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology. While earning her undergraduate degree, she worked as a medical scribe in the emergency department, which confirmed her passion for medicine. Kailee decided to further her medical education at the University of Kentucky – Northern Kentucky Campus. During her time at UK, her medical school’s campus opened a free clinic in the area to provide medical care for the underserved population. Kailee discovered that volunteering at the free clinic was not only a great learning experience, but also incredibly fulfilling.

Family Medicine involves caring for patients of various ages and backgrounds, something Kailee was seeking in her medical career. One aspect of Family Medicine Kailee enjoys is the ability to foster long-term relationships with her patients. She has many interests in Family Medicine, including hospital medicine, women’s health, obstetrics, addiction medicine, LGBTQ+ care, procedures, and acupuncture. Kailee was drawn to Grant because of the full-spectrum training with an emphasis on inpatient medicine while still incorporating outpatient medicine. The ability to tailor her residency at Grant to her specific interests in family medicine was also appealing to her. It was clear that Grant cultivates a welcoming and positive learning environment, one of which Kailee is honored to be a part of.

In her free time, Kailee enjoys spending quality time with her significant other, Noah, as well as her friends and family. She has many hobbies such as reading, learning new languages, watching TV shows and movies, exercising, hiking, dancing, crafting, and playing musical instruments. Skiing has been a new found hobby that both she and her significant other enjoy during the winter months.

Lindsey has so many areas of interest within family medicine, including behavioral health, women’s health, LGBTQ care and adolescent med just to name a few.

She was drawn to Grant because of their location within the heart of Columbus and ability to serve patients of all walks of life. Lindsey’s rotation at Grant showed her how hands-on, capable, and talented their residents are, which is exactly the kind of program she was looking for. She’s so excited to be a part of this team!

In her free time, Lindsey loves reading, playing tennis, and exploring local music/ entertainment events with her people!

Michael Yurchak, DO (he/him) - West Virginia School of Medicine

Michael was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. After graduating high school at 17, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and operated as an aeromedical evacuation technician for 11 years. During this time, he flew thousands of US and NATO patients around the world spanning thousands of total flight hours; becoming a bit of a military plane nerd during the process. In congruence with his military service, Michael also pursued an extensive academic career netting 2 associates’, 1 bachelor, and 2 masters’ degrees. Even though his alma mater closed their doors in 2023, he is still proud to be a part of the Medaille Maverik family! While his ultimate goal was always to attend medical school, there was no good time for him to end this chapter of his life to begin a new one… until he crept ever closer to 30 years old. He then moved to West Liberty, WV to obtain his second master’s in Biomedical Science before matriculating into the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine located in Lewisburg, WV; also known as the “coolest small town in America”.

Michael has been living in the Columbus area both part and full time for the last 2 years completing required clinical clerkships for his 3rd and 4th years of medical school. His medical interests include women’s and reproductive health, obstetrics, LBGTQIA+ health care with an emphasis in transgender care, and bringing diversity and inclusion into medicine. Michael chose family medicine at Grant Medical Center after rotating with the program on a month long sub-internship. During this period, he appreciated the program’s strong focus on full-spectrum training, offering several interest paths, as well as, their commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Michael comes from a large blended family spanning nearly each corner of the US and takes FULL advantage of this to travel around to visit them. During his limited free time, Michael enjoys vibing with his chihuahua Isabella (who should hold honorary masters’ and doctoral degrees), running, adapting authentic ethnic recipes into being vegetarian (despite not being a vegetarian), and staring at any military aircraft that happens to pass overhead. Additionally, he has been SCUBA certified for several years, holding both sport diving and NITROX diving certifications; with aspirations to torture himself by obtaining a certification in ice diving. He’s always down to grab dinner and a drink in short north or spend the entire day at the CBUS zoo!
